Our Story

It started with a wall.

You wouldn’t normally think of a wall as something that would bring people together, but a simple landscaping project turned into the ultimate “scope creep” and launched a thriving business in the heart of Georgia that is run by the husband and wife team of Aaron and Tracy, and their best friend Chad.

After moving into her husband’s new construction home, Tracy was astonished by the spartan environment that had once been Aaron and Chad’s bachelor pad. The house was sparsely decorated – bare walls everywhere, “functional” furniture at best, with the marquee design element being a Christmas tree that had seemingly been in the same place for 2 years. Even worse was the home’s landscaping, with builder-grade hollies and boxwoods, the only bit of color provided by the muddy red Georgia clay soil dabbled with bits of mulch. Something had to be done.

It was then Aaron, a known lover of starting ambitious projects and a strong champion of “happy wife, happy life”, architected grand plans to build a decorative retaining wall to frame the front of the house. Hours upon hours of backbreaking sweat and toil from the whole family had paid off handsomely with the new DIY construction. Neighbors flocked from near and far to ogle the new glorious wall, remarking on its professional look. Aaron beamed with pride at his new creation, Tracy remarked “no, this isn’t finished yet. Color. It’s missing color.” Aaron sighed as more work loomed, but their friend Chad stepped up to help Tracy realize her vision. Chad had a green thumb and a love of flowering plants and the new landscaping became a blank canvas that he began filling. And filling. And filling.

Soon flowers were everywhere – “scope creep” reared its head and a new garden bed was going into every side of the house. After the passing of Tracy’s Dad, that had a love for Marigold's, Chad decided to create a memorial garden on the side of their house with colorful Marigold's and other beautiful flowers. Half of the backyard became an incredible oasis retreat full of Dahlias, Zinnias, Marigolds and flowering perennials in a riot of color. Chad had started 2500 plants from seed - flowers were everywhere – Chad’s science background naturally led him to grow the most prolific and spectacular blooms, but the house’s landscaping was busting at the seams. How could the friends bring “Balance to the Force?”

Enter Just Peachy Flower Farm. Why not share the abundance and beauty with others rather than hoarding it all in a backyard? With access to a plot of land at her mom’s house, Tracy realized that there was a path for her to run a small business doing things she loved – meeting people at the market, growing products that appeal to the heart and bring joy to the soul when it is most needed, and bringing more beauty into the world, all with a unique mix of her trademark smarts, sweetness, and sass.

Together, under the warm Georgia sun, we have planted rows of vibrant dahlias, sunflowers, lisianthus, zinnias, snapdragons and many more. We grow them not for ourselves, but for you. Give them to someone you love, someone to tell them you’re sorry, someone who needs a lift, someone you want to thank. A simple gesture goes a long way to show others that we care. Or get them for yourself, because you are beautiful, you are bold, you are worth it and you deserve it. As the song says, “I Can Buy Myself Flowers.”
